Before you take freelance bookings

If you work for yourself in the UAE, you need these three.

  • The right to work for yourself. A MOHRE freelance permit, or a visa through your own company.
  • A trade licence that covers cooking. Ask for a cooking activity such as Party Cook, and confirm it with the Department of Economy and Tourism before you pay.
  • Food-safety training. An Occupational Health Card and Dubai Municipality food registration, or ADAFSA training in Abu Dhabi.
